A leading multi-utility in Northwestern Italy has launched a challenge aimed at startups and innovative SMEs with the goal of identifying innovative digital solutions (software and hardware connected to intelligent software) based on artificial intelligence to optimize and enhance the efficiency of business processes. The company is interested in technology and commercial cooperation.
Three Italian corporates from Lombardy launched the “Greentech and Circular Economy Innovation” call specifically targets start-ups and SMEs that are already developing innovative solutions in the following areas, contributing to a more circular and competitive future: Industrial Energy management, Data Center heat load, Soil and ground water remediation, Refinery waste valorisation.
Expected role of a partner: Innovative SME or start up able to provide an innovative ready-to-implement solution.

ChemTelligence - ChemCologne Challenge for StartUps and SME
ChemCologne is a local network around Cologne with several members from the chemical industry (Shell, Evonik, Yncoris). They have Challenges related digitalisation and also Sustainbility in an open competition.
Digital Challenges:
Introduction of an Advanced Process Control concept to increase production in a polymerisation plant (Deutsche Infineum GmbH & Co. KG):
Improvement of a batch production process relating to polymerisation in high-pressure reactors. The aim is to introduce a higher-level control system to coordinate the control steps and increase the overall number of batches.
Development of a change management process for the introduction of digital maintenance tools (Maintenance 4.0) (Deutsche Infineum GmbH & Co. KG):
Introduction of a digital maintenance tool to coordinate and plan orders efficiently. Scheduling and planning is centralised.
Clarifying the environment for the use of AI in the chemical process industry (YNCORIS GmbH & CO. KG):
Environment analysis in the chemical industry, creation of an assessment tool and systematic report for categorisation/assessment/indication of critical points.

Expected role of a partner:
Companies or research institutes those can provide, - AI and AR technology (and solution) for assembling and maintenance of equipment, or - DC Servo motors or lowering belt satisfying technical specification Role of partner will, - Provide products/technologies under commercial agreement - Research and develop jointly If necessary for further development to adapt Korean company’s final system.
