Funding opportunities for robotic solutions - virtual workshop and networking
EEN presents | Funding opportunities for robotic solutions on 16 February. The goal of this format is to inform participants about funding opportunities (main focus on cascade funding, i.e. "third party calls") and to give them the opportunity to meet suitable partners for building project consortia. The robotics event will present the funding calls Trinity, RIMA and DIH², which support implementation of robotic solutions with up to 300.000 €. Given the common scope of third party calls, the web seminar is primarily aimed at start-ups and SMEs that either are interested in applying robotic solutions in their value chain or are themselves robotics technology providers.
What does the virtual workshop offer?
Participants learn in the virtual workshop how to best prepare for a Trinity, RIMA or DIH² project application and how to find suitable partners for their project.
They receive first-hand information from the project offices (Trinity, RIMA or DIH²)
They can present their innovative project idea in a 2-3 minutes pitch (limited availability) to find a suitable project partner and to receive valuable feedback
Network with stakeholders from the manufacturing industry and exchange ideas with robotic technology provider
What is Trinity?
TRINITY invites SMEs and micaps to build consortia for planning, implementing, and disseminating ICT technologies including robotics, IoT and cybersecurity to facilitate agile production in European companies. The TRINITY ecosystem provides up to €300,000 equity free funding for SME use case demonstrators. Please find more information here.
What is RIMA?
RIMA will support the development and deployment of robotics inspection & maintenance applications with grants for Robotics Innovation Experiments (RIE). RIEs consist of developing, testing and validating the technical and economic viability of a robotic system prototype demonstrated in an operational environment - including, among others, the energy, water, transport and construction sectors. As a consortium you can receive financial support up to € 150K for innovative proposals. Please find more information here.
What is DIH²?
The DIH² project actively supports innovative solutions and new ideas that improve manufacturing in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through the use of robotics. Consortia of at least one SME and one technology solution provider can apply and receive max. 248.000 € funding.

PITCCH : Call with a deadline on 01.03 (25.000 euros per SME)
PITCCH aims to promote an Open Innovation network where technology centres and other innovation agent act as intermediary to facilitate the establishment of structured collaborations between Big Corporations, as technology seekers, and SMEs/Startups as technology provider.
SMEs and Startups are now invited to reply to the PITCCH Challenges by proposing a solution based on advanced technologies.
Big Corporation, Challenge Title, Technology sought for
1) APTIV, Eye See Glasses – Remote Support, Digital technologies;
2) EFACEC, Smart Digital Transformer Management Solution, Digital technologies/Micro&Nano-electronics;
3) P&G, Plastic-free recyclable packaging liquid, Advanced Materials/Nanotechnology;
4) REPSOL, Bio-indole for gasoline octane booster, Industrial Biotechnology;
5) SAINT-GOBAIN, Tile Grout as a ceramic, Advanced Materials;
6) SIEMENS ENERGY, Climate-friendly process steam supply, Energy technologies;
7) SPIE, Odyssee: Open Data systems for the building environment, Digital Technologies.
To have access to the full Challenges description and to respond to a Challenge, an SME or Startup should register on the PITCCH Open Innovation Platform.
The deadline for the submission of the first stage of the call for proposals is on the 1st of March.
In order to apply, the SME or Startup shall comply with the EU definition of SME, and shall be a single company (not a consortium).
Results of the first stage will be communicated on the 15th of March. Selected SMEs and Startups will be invited to participate to the second stage of the application which consists in the submission of the full stage proposal. A PITCH Day will be then organised by the Big Corporation to select the final SME or Startup to start the Open Innovation collaboration.
The collaborative project will have a duration of 6 months.
The selected SME or Startup per Challenge will receive €25,000.00 for the implementation of innovation activities related to the collaborative project and up to 40h free consultancy services from the PITCCH consortium.
